DAY 1 : CAPE TOWN / WINELANDS

Welcome to South Africa!

Upon arrival at Cape Town Airport, you will be met and transferred to the majestic Cape Winelands. Your accommodation is the Village at Spier.

DAY 2 : WINELANDS (BD)
February 25th 2008

You will be met this morning and taken into the heart of the Cape Winelands, as you embark on a full day Winelands Tour. Visit a few wonderful wine farms, enjoy lunch in the quaint town of Franschhoek and take in the beauty of your surroundings.

Return to Spier for the rest of the afternoon. The evening is yours at leisure. There are a few restaurants to choose from in the Spier Complex, or you could take a taxi into Stellenbosch itself and enjoy dinner at one of the quaint restaurants there.

DAY 3: WINELANDS / CAPE TOWN (BL)
February 26th 2008

Transfer this morning back to the “Mother City”. Your accommodation in Cape Town is the Protea Hotel Cape Castle.

Enjoy the convenience of being literally on the doorstep of the V & A Waterfront, luxuriate in a spacious apartment suite, soak up the views and smile... because the Protea Hotel Cape Castle offers all this and more.

DAY 4: CAPE TOWN (B)
February 27th 2008

A full day to enjoy Cape Town! We will be planning a Cape Point / Peninsula Tour today. Highly recommended! For those of you interested, here is the itinerary :

See for yourself how this spectacular southern tip of Africa became known as the 'Fairest Cape'.
• Drive past Camps Bay, Clifton and Llandudno - 'millionaire's paradise'.
• Hout Bay and harbour with a Seal Island Cruise (own account).
• Chapman's Peak Drive and Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.
• Lunch own account.
• Naval port of Simon's Town and Constantia.
• Penguin colony at Boulder's Beach.

For those wishing to explore Cape Town itself, why not visit the V&A or take a City Tour. Perhaps explore the City Centre (St. George’s Mall in particular) or take a cable car up to the top of Table Mountain. The views from here are magnificent!

DAY 5: CAPE TOWN / YZERFONTEIN (B)

The big day has arrived! Enjoy your celebrations of Kathryn and Seth today as they join in marriage today!

Transfer today to Yzerfontein. A beautiful town lying under a sunny sky separated from the blue of the Atlantic Ocean by endless white sandy beaches. This seaside village lies 85 km north of Cape Town on the R27. Closer inspection reveals that this really is a tourist´s paradise. In Yzerfontein, where warm, lazy days stretch into long, pleasurable evenings, you´ll find rest and adventure in equal proportions.

Yzerfontein is known for its natural beauty, vast stretches of beach and tranquillity, as it is for its tradition of hospitality. Basking in year round sunshine, a splendid winter climate where balmy, daytime temperatures rarely fall below 10 degrees

You head back to Cape Town today! Your accommodation will be at the Protea Hotel Cape Castle. Enjoy your time in Cape Town, (I would like to suggest dinner tonight at one of the restaurants in the “Cape Quarter”. You can walk there from your hotel), before you head down the magical “Garden Route” tomorrow!


DAY 8: CAPE TOWN / PLETTENBERG BAY (B)

Another wonderful part of South Africa awaits you today! You will be collected from your hotel this morning, and journey along the scenic “Garden Route” towards Plettenberg Bay.
Originally christened "Bahia Formosa" (beautiful bay) by early Portuguese explorers, Plettenberg Bay can now be accessed by first class national roads, by sea or by scheduled air flights.

The great forests lying at the feet of the fabled Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains are the gateway to the incredible indigenous African wealth of Plettenberg Bay, which lies on South Africa's spectacular south coast. The picturesque Plettenberg Bay with its kilometers of unspoilt white beaches, long summers and mild winters has a host of activities and caters for any type of traveler.

Your accommodation is the Beacon Island Resort. The Beacon Island Resort at Plettenberg Bay is truly a world-famous landmark and one of the most sought-after holiday destinations. Built on a rocky promontory jutting into the warm Indian Ocean, Beacon Island's setting remains unsurpassed.

DAY 9: PLETTENBERG BAY (B)

For those of you starting the Dolphin Trail today (ie Group 2), please be at the starting point after lunchtime today. The rest of you can either enjoy the beach and services of your hotel, or how about exploring the towns of Knysna and Oudsthoorn perhaps (separate day tours that can be booked with us).

DAY 10: PLETTENBERG BAY

We would like to organize a “ladies day” and a “gents day” today! Our destination : Pezula Spa and Resort. Situated just outside Knysna, next door to Plettenberg Bay. DAY 11: PLETTENBERG BAY

DAY 12: PLETTENBERG BAY / JOHANNESBURG / WATERBERG (D)
March 06th 2008

After the second group of “Dolphin Trailers” return today, we take you inland! Transfer to George Airport in time for your short flight from George to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, you will be met and directed to your coach. Transfer to the Limpopo Province. Your destination : The Waterberg Region and the Welgevonden Game Reserve. Your Lodge is the wonderful Thandeka Lodge!

DAY 13: WATERBERG (BLD)

Thandeka is a malaria-free reserve that homes an abundant variety of wildlife, birds and flora. The 75 mammal species include big game such as elephant, lion, white and black rhino, hippo, leopard and buffalo. African python and the Nile crocodile are also resident, and it is a birdwatchers’ paradise with more than 300 bird species.
The Waterberg’s beauty lies in it's superb vistas, mountain gorges, clear streams and rolling bushveld hills, all rich in indigenous species of flora and fauna.

The area is also steeped in history, with many a rock art and geological site.

DAY 14: WATERBERG / JOHANNESBURG (B)

An early morning game drive and then it’s back to the Lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, transfer back to Johannesburg. Your time together ends here. Some of you may be continuing your travels in South Africa, for others we wish you a safe and pleasant journey home.
